Vehicle Description A front mounted 4.
4 Litre V12 engine producing 352 bhp, 4 OHC, six twin throat-webers, dry sump lubrication and a five speed trans-axle were just some of the goodies offered by the Daytona when it was shown to the public at the Paris Motor Show in 1968.
To some, this was the ultimate Ferrari.
The Daytona was a combination of the successful 275 GTB/4 chassis and the latest and most powerful engine from the 365 GT all packed inside a modern body design by Pininfarina.
The body design was the result of studies carried out at the Polytech Highschool in Turin from which prototypes were made and wind tunnel tested.
The actual body construction was by Scaglietti.
Unlike the 250 SWB and GTO, the 365 GTB/4 was built for street use and often came with luxuries such as electric windows, radio, and air conditioning.
The Daytona weighed 1280 kg.
Paul Frere, well known journalist, and ex-Ferrari works driver, during tests clocked an average on four runs of 282 km/h.
Acceleration figures were rapid with a 0 to 60 km/h of 3.
4 seconds and a 0 to 100 km/h of 6.
1 seconds, the 240 km/h mark was reached in 28.
5 seconds.
The standing kilometer was covered in 24.
4 seconds.
Truly impressive figures which many modern sports cars would be hard pressed to better.
A total of 1276 Daytona's were built between 1968 and 1973.
Professional restoration work to its original condition was undertaken on the car we offer and was completed in August 1990.
The car is finished in Fly Yellow with an original black leather interior and is perfect in every way:
all mechanical parts were rebuilt as well as when it left the factory.
